Asian current events (south korea)
In July of 2012, a U.S. soldier was accused of smuggling drugs into South Korea. This soldier, who was apart of the 2nd Infantry Division, which is based in South Korea, was accused of smuggling $90,000 dollars worth of synthetic marijuana. According to 2nd Infantry Division, this man has been transferred to South Korean custody on July 23. This is known as the biggest drug smuggling case of South Korea. Five more U.S. citizens and this soldier, will be prosecuted in this drug smuggling case.
This is similar to the drug smuggling which has happened in Latin America. This is similar because it is nearly the same incident, but only in different parts of the world. In Latin America, there were people who were smuggling drugs into the United States. An incident had happened where the U.S. had fired at a plane in the air because the U.S. had believed there were drugs being smuggled from Latin America, but the plane had only U.S. military in it. This shows that the South Korea and Latin America drug smugglings were similar.

Crossing pop culture Japan vs. Usa
In Japan, there is a well known game show, which is known as Brain Wall. It is basically a game where the player has to fit the shape of hole in the styrofoam wall, which moves towards the player. In America, there is a game show called Hole In the Wall, which is almost exactly the same as the Japanese version. In both shows, the player/players, dress up in silver spandex unitards, knee and elbow pads, and a helmet. The only difference between the 2 shows is that they are in 2 different areas of the world.

The primary source in which I have chosen was the samurai armor in Japan. The samurai armor was (as the name says) armor specifically made for the samurais to protect them in battle. The samurai were an elite class of fighters in Japan. They were used to protect the shoguns and the daimyo. The research I would do for this armor would help one figure out how the armor was made and why it looks the way it does now.
There are a few things I would do to research about the armor. For example, I would try to recreate the armor. Doing this would let one know how the armor was made, and what materials were used to create this armor. I would also try to find out why the armor was made to look the way it does now. The armor may have been made to represent a clan or group within Japan. To find out more about the samurai armor, I would also ask any of those in Japan who knew how the armor was made and why it was made to look the way it does now. http://samurai-warriors.org/japanese-samurai-armor/
